    10 Ancient Nations And Their modern names and locations

    1. Babylon – The ancient Babylonian Empire is located in what is now modern-day Iraq, particularly around the city of Hillah, south of Baghdad. It was known for its great king Nebuchadnezzar and the famous Hanging Gardens of Babylon.

    2. Assyria – This ancient empire occupied the northern part of Iraq, extending into parts of Syria and Turkey. Its capital city was Nineveh, known for its power and cruelty in battle.

    3. Persia – The great Persian Empire corresponds to present-day Iran. It was founded by Cyrus the Great and later ruled by kings such as Darius and Xerxes.

    4. Egypt – The ancient land of Pharaohs is still known today as Egypt, located in northeastern Africa along the River Nile. It is famous for its pyramids and long history of civilization.

    5. Philistia (Land of the Philistines) – This ancient coastal nation is found in today’s Gaza Strip and southwestern Israel. The Philistines were often at ... with Israel, and figures like Samson and David fought against them.

    8. Greece – Ancient Greece corresponds to the present-day nation of Greece, located in southern Europe along the Aegean Sea. It was the birthplace of democracy, philosophy, and the Olympic Games.

    9. Rome – The center of the ancient Roman Empire is modern Italy, with Rome still as its capital city. From there, the Romans ruled much of Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East.

    10. Israel – The ancient kingdom of Israel is located in the modern State of Israel in the Middle East, along the eastern Mediterranean coast. It was ruled by kings such as David and Solomon, and reestablished as a nation in 1948.
