    In December 2024, Nigeria's Ademola Lookman was crowned the CAF African Footballer of the Year, capping off a remarkable season with Atalanta and the Nigeria national team. 

    However, just months later, Lookman finds himself embroiled in a transfer saga that has cast a shadow over his achievements. The striker sought a move to Inter Milan, a club he felt aligned with his ambitions. Despite Inter's €45 million bid, Atalanta rejected the offer, citing their valuation of the player at €50 million.  

    Now the player has returned to Atalanta, not as a hero but a villian-- disappointed about a failed move to Inter Milan.
