# Things nobody prepared me for as an adult 🧵
**The weird stuff they don't tell you about being a grown-up:**
🏠 **You'll spend an unreasonable amount of mental energy deciding what to eat for dinner. Every. Single. Day.**
- And somehow "there's nothing to eat" when your fridge is full
🛒 **Going to the grocery store becomes a strategic mission**
- You'll walk the same aisles 3 times and still forget the one thing you actually needed
💰 **Having money doesn't mean you feel rich enough to buy the "good" paper towels**
- You'll still buy the cheap toilet paper and immediately regret it
🏥 **You have to make your own doctor appointments**
- And they'll ask you about your medical history like you're supposed to remember what vaccines you got in 3rd grade
🧺 **Laundry is never actually "done"**
- It's just temporarily caught up
🎂 **Your birthday stops feeling special and starts feeling like paperwork**
- "I need to update my age on 47 different accounts"
🚗 **Car maintenance is expensive and confusing**
- "Your flux capacitor needs to be rotated" - "Okay how much?" - "$800"
🏠 **You'll get genuinely excited about household purchases**
- A new vacuum cleaner will literally make your week
📱 **You'll become your parents**
- "Why is this app different? I liked it the old way"
🛏️ **Going to bed early becomes rebellious**
- 9 PM bedtime? Revolutionary.
💸 **Everything costs more than you think it should**
- A trip to Target for "one thing" = $127.43
🥗 **Vegetables expire faster than your motivation to eat them**
- The cycle of buying spinach with good intentions
