Scene 3: The Voice in the Forest
Location: EXT. DARK FOREST / SHRINE PATH ā NIGHT
Genre: Nigerian Horror
Tone: Mysterious, supernatural, intense
FADE IN:
EXT. EDGE OF THE FOREST ā NIGHT
The moon is high. Mist curls through the trees. Crickets chirp nervously. Amanda, now 13, walks barefoot down a narrow bush path, as if guided by something unseen. Her white wrapper drags in the leaves.
She hums the same eerie tune from Scene 2.
NARRATOR (V.O.)
They said she walked into the forest aloneā¦
But Amanda never walked alone.
The one inside her was always listeningā¦ always speaking.
EXT. DEEP FOREST CLEARING ā CONTINUOUS
Amanda stops before an ancient, forgotten shrine built with stone and vines. A cracked statue of a serpent coils around the altar.
Suddenly, a cold wind blows.
OJUKWU (V.O.)
Amandaā¦
She looks around. The voice seems to come from the trees.
OJUKWU (V.O.) (deeper)
You have waited. You have watched.
But nowā¦ it is time to act.
AMANDA
(softly)
What do you want from me?
OJUKWU (V.O.)
I gave you lifeā¦ beautyā¦ power.
Now I demand your obedience.
Bring justice. Bring fear.
Let those who stain the land feel the fang of fire.
Amandaās eyes glow faintly.
AMANDA
Who shall be first?
A breeze shifts the trees ā revealing a vision: Chief Duru, laughing with his guards, beating a poor farmer.
Amandaās breath trembles, but she doesnāt look away.
OJUKWU (V.O.)
He killed a virgin girlā¦ buried her beneath his floor.
And the land cries for her blood.
Make it right.
Amanda steps forward and places her hand on the altar. Blood trickles from her palm.
AMANDA (whispers)
I accept.
OJUKWU (V.O.)
Then rise, Serpent Queen.
The shrine erupts in glowing red light. A serpent coils around her legsābut vanishes into her skin. Her pupils slit like a snakeās.
Amanda smiles, darkly.
FADE OUT.
END SCENE 3
