Ā SCENES 4 TO 10 (COMPLETE PART 1)
ā Scene 4 Continued: Aftermath of the First Kill
Location: EXT. VILLAGE SHRINE ā MORNING
Villagers crowd the shrine in confusion and fear. Some call on Jesus. Others whisper ancient prayers.
VILLAGER 4 (fearfully)
This is not human. This is spiritual.
We are not safe.
VILLAGE ELDER
The gods are speakingā¦ or something darker has come.
INT. MAMA NKECHIāS HUT ā SAME TIME
Mama Nkechi finds Amanda sitting quietly, weaving again.
MAMA NKECHI
Amandaā¦ where were you last night?
AMANDA
(without looking up)
I was with the wind. Listening.
And the wind carried a nameā¦ that is now silent.
Mama Nkechi falls to her knees, trembling.
MAMA NKECHI (whispers)
Ojukwuā¦ have mercy on us.
ā Scene 5: Love in the Shadow
Location: EXT. FOREST STREAM ā EVENING
Amanda kneels beside a stream. She washes her feet. A hunterās arrow strikes a tree beside her ā not aimed at her, just close.
She turns. It's TUNDE (22) ā tall, calm, a quiet hunter. He lowers his bow.
TUNDE
Ah! I didnāt mean to frighten you.
AMANDA (without fear)
You didnāt.
He studies her ā beautiful, calm, too still. Most girls would run. She doesnāt.
TUNDE
Youāre Amanda, right? The girl who doesnāt blink?
Amanda smirks.
AMANDA
People say many things.
Do you believe all of them?
TUNDE (smiling)
No. I like to see for myself.
He kneels, fills his calabash from the stream, and drinks beside her.
Their eyes lock.
NARRATOR (V.O.)
He saw a girlā¦ not a spirit.
And for the first timeā¦ Amanda smiled not as a serpent, but as a girl.
ā Scene 6: A Betrayal in the Night
Location: INT. VILLAGE MEETING HALL ā NIGHT
Pastor Elijah gathers elders and villagers. Tunde stands nearby, silent.
PASTOR ELIJAH
It is her! That girl! Amanda is the source of this evil!
We must cleanse this land with fire!
VILLAGER 1
You go and face her, Pastor. Didnāt she make a chief drop dead?
TUNDE (hesitant)
Sheās not what you think.
Sheāsā¦ more than that.
PASTOR ELIJAH
Youāre bewitched, young man!
The plan is made: burn Mama Nkechiās hut and force Amanda out. Tunde says nothing.
ā Scene 7: The Burning Shrine
Location: INT. MAMA NKECHIāS HUT ā NIGHT
Villagers march with fire and drums. Mama nkechi screams
MAMA NKECHI
Leave us! She is not a demon!
VILLAGER 2
Then let the fire prove it!
They torch the walls. Flames rise.
Amanda steps out of the flames, untouched. Her eyes glow. Her skin glistens like scaled gold.
AMANDA
I came in peace.
Now you will dance with shadows.
She lifts her hand ā the fire circles the villagers, but doesnāt burn themā¦ yet.
TUNDE (shouting)
Amanda, stop! Youāll become what they fear!
She freezes. Her eyes soften. She disappears in smoke.
ā Scene 8: The Escape
Location: EXT. SACRED FOREST ā NIGHT
Amanda runs into the forest. Her serpent form flashes through the trees. She stops at the serpent altar.
OJUKWU (V.O.)
You chose loveā¦ over wrath.
AMANDA
They betrayed me! Even Tundeā¦
OJUKWU (V.O.)
Then let the earth taste vengeance.
Call forth the seven.
She cuts her palm again. Blood drips onto the altar.
The sky darkens.
ā Scene 9: The Seven Spirits
Location: EXT. SPIRITUAL REALM ā VISION SEQUENCE
From the altar, seven shadowy spirits rise, each shaped like distorted humans with snake-like features.
They hiss, whispering the names of the seven village sinners.
Amanda stands tall.
AMANDA (commanding)
Cleanse this land.
Let the name Amanda bring fear.
The spirits vanish into smoke ā heading toward the village.
ā FINAL SCENE 10: The Prophecy Begins
Location: INT. PASTOR ELIJAHāS CHURCH ā NIGHT
Pastor Elijah kneels in prayer. A torn letter falls from the window. He opens it.
> āWhen darkness rises from the daughter of the serpent,
A light will rise from the Son of the Word.
Seek Azubuike.ā
He looks up ā a candle explodes.
FADE TO BLACK
