They said government made promises.
Funds promised in 2025 budget.
But today, ASUU says
Many promises remain broken.
They demand ₦150 billion revitalisation fund.
ASUU’s new leader,
Prof. Chris Piwuna, speaks up.
He warns: “Act now, or risk another nationwide strike.”
Key issues still unresolved:
• Unpaid 2022 salaries
• Earned Academic Allowance
• University autonomy
• Revamp of school facilities
Non-academic unions are angry too.
They say ASUU might get all the money.
ThenDay reports ₦50 billion was paid –
But more is still needed.
FG says it set up a committee to renegotiate 2009 deal.
So… is university life safe now?
Yes—for now.
No broken pickets.
But the threat is real.
If talks stall,
Students will lose classes again.
