Can we talk? Being a good person for this country sometimes feel like you pay for Netflix but dem still show you ads. You help person, dem use you. You dey honest, dem call you mumu. You dey patient, dem take you for granted. You lend money, "I go pay next week" turn to December 2027. Last month, I helped my guy with urgent 20k. He post "God bless" for status like I do miracle. Three weeks later I ask for my money, he say "na because of small 20k you dey worry me?" 😂 Omo. I be bank? So the question be: Should we just stop being good? My answer: No. But change the settings. 1. Good no mean available 24/7 - You fit be good person with boundaries. "No" na complete sentence. You no owe anybody explanation. 2. Kindness no mean foolishness - Help people, but no set yourself on fire to keep others warm. If you no get am, say am. Fake love go stress you. 3. Your peace na priority - If being good to someone dey cost you your mental health, sleep, or money for food, step back. You no fit pour from empty cup. The world need good people. But good people need to survive too. Be good, but be wise. Be kind, but don’t be client. Be helpful, but no be mumu. Who else don experience this "good person tax"?
