19 hrs agoCancer in general occurs as a result of uncontrolled proliferation (cell division) in a cell. Usually, a cell has a life span, and when it is complete, it is programmed for death. Cancer is caused by the following
1. genetic mutations that affect genes that promote cell growth or genes that slow down cell division or trigger cell death. When these mutations occur, they derail from their usual function.also, some cells are resistant to cell death as a result of mutations leading to continuous cell division.
2. environmental factors such as exposure to chemicals,toxins, and radiation can lead to mutations.
3. Lifestyles:in-take of excessive alcohol,smoking, lack of physical exercise, and excessive feeding (obesity)
Breast cancer is the state whereby the cells in the breast tissue divide indefinitely.
Symptoms include pain in the breast or armpit region, change in shape and size of breast,nipple pull inward or develop rash, nipple discharge fluid other than breast milk and contain blood.
Prevention
Regular physical activity, avoid excess consumption of alcohol, maintain healthy weight,go for regular check-ups and lastly avoid exposure to chemicals( This is the reason women are not encouraged to work in a filling station for a long period of time)
