    Under the burning sun of the Sahara, Malik’s radio crackled for the first time in days. “Help... north ridge...” It was faint but real. His group thought it was interference, but Malik insisted on checking. Hours later, they found a stranded archaeologist, weak but alive, waving a dusty flag. “You heard me,” the man said, smiling faintly. “I owe you my life.”
