Last weekend, he walked into history undefeated.
If Warren Buffett is Omaha's GOAT of investing, then Terence “Bud” Crawford is Omaha's GOAT of boxing.
He moved up weight classes to face Canelo Alvarez and won by unanimous decision.
Unbeaten and Undisputed.
But this day almost never came.
In 2008, Crawford was shot after a dice game in his neighbourhood. The bullet grazed just below his ear. He drove himself to the hospital, bleeding.
After he was stitched up, he made a decision never to go back to the streets.
From that moment, boxing became more than a career. It became survival.
Early on, he struggled to even get fights. Then came a chance to spar Timothy Bradley. Everyone worried he was too small. But Crawford insisted: "Judge me today. If I don’t perform, send me home."
In the ring, he matched Bradley's intensity and skill so good that Bradley admitted Crawford was a world champion in waiting.
The rest is history!
Fast forward, 42 fights. 0 losses. Multiple divisions. History made.
