The man who went to apologize and ended up proposing to the wrong family 😂💍 It was a peaceful Sunday afternoon in Lagos. Emeka had one mission: Go and apologize to his girlfriend’s family before things escalated beyond repair. The issue had started two days earlier. He had forgotten her birthday… Then lied about it… Then got caught… Then tried to “fix it emotionally”… And accidentally made it worse. Now her mother had said: “If he wants peace, let him come and explain himself properly.” So Emeka prepared like he was going for Wàr. New shirt ✔️ Perfume ✔️ Apology speech ✔️ Small gift ✔️ Confidence (borrowed) ✔️ He arrived at the street, took a deep breath, and entered the compound. But there was a small problem… Two different families were having a naming ceremony in the same compound hall. 😳 Same outfit style. Same chairs. Same loud music. Same confused atmosphere. Emeka paused. “Okay… focus. Just find your girlfriend’s family.” He entered the first sitting area confidently. An elderly woman smiled at him. “My son, you are welcome!” Emeka bowed immediately. “Ma, I am here to apologize for my mistakes and ask for forgiveness.” The woman’s face lit up. “Awwww! He is finally accepting marriage!” 😭 Emeka blinked. “Marriage?” Before he could explain, someone grabbed his hand. “Stand here, let’s take introduction photos!” A wrapper was placed on him. Another person handed him kola nuts. Somebody shouted: “The groom has arrived!” 💍🤣 Emeka froze. “Excuse me… I think there is a misunderstanding—” But nobody listened. Music increased. Drums started. People began dancing around him. One uncle shouted: “This boy has finally chosen our daughter!” Emeka panicked. “Which daughter?! I came to apologize!” But at that exact moment, a lady in white walked in smiling. Emeka looked at her. She looked at him. Everyone started clapping. Emeka whispered: “Wait… I think I’m in the wrong apology.” But it was too late. The MC grabbed the microphone. “Ladies and gentlemen, let’s welcome the groom!” 🎤🤣 Emeka tried to escape. But they had already seated him at the high table. Food was served. Photos were taken. His “girlfriend’s apology speech” was now being introduced as a “wedding vow rehearsal.” At this point, Emeka stood up slowly. “Please… I am not the groom.” Silence. Then laughter started slowly… Then exploded. 🤣🤣🤣 Even the photographer dropped his camera laughing. The woman who welcomed him earlier covered her face. “My son… why didn’t you say so earlier?!” Emeka sighed deeply. “I was trying… but I was being promoted too fast.” Finally, he was escorted out politely. But as he left, one uncle shouted: “Even if you are not the groom… you have already collected introduction rice!” 😂 Emeka stopped. Looked at his takeaway food. Paused. Then said: “At least the apology was successful somewhere.” And walked home eating free jollof rice of confusion. 😭🤣 😂 LESSON: Always confirm the situation before apologizing too deeply.
