3 hrs agoGovernor Alex Otti contested for the goverernatorial seat of Abia State twice, in 2015 and 2019, under the APGA party, before winning in 2023 with LP through the instrumentality of Prof. Nnenna Oti, the VC of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri.
In 2019, Otti and Abia state, in general, were not as fortunate as to gain a returning officer in the calibre and integrity of Prof. Nnenna from Afikpo, because it is generally believed that he also won in 2019 against H.E. Okezie Ikpeazu but was denied.
Today, all eyes are on the Abia Messiah. The movers and shakers of this nation are pulling political triggers to pressure him to join the wave of defection. Otti is Peter Obi's alter ego and as much as the surrogacy of Obi's influence is effervescent through him, the Pharisees will know no sleep.
Plans are in top gear to forestall a repeat of the 2023 debacle, including the review or possible abolishing of the use of Vice Chancellors as INEC returning officers.
