Growing up poor in Nigeria taught us things money can’t buy 💔💪
1.You knew how to manage things:
Half cup of garri + 3 cubes of sugar = full meal.
2. Clothes were “recycled” from older siblings.
Some of us wore clothes 10 years before our time 😂
3. One shoe for school, church, and events.
You polished it till it begged for retirement.
4. Broken TV? You slapped it till it worked.
5. You learned how to laugh even with an empty stomach.
Poverty taught joy.
6. You never wasted food.
“Finish it, people are hungry in Sudan.”
7. Every celebration felt like Christmas.
Because joy came from community, not money.
If you grew up with little, but still smiled daily, you’re stronger than you know.
Salute to all the silent warriors ❤️
