I should have known the silence meant something.
Days passed and Khalil didn’t call. No text. No “I miss you.” Just silence.
I told myself he was busy. That he’d come around. But deep down, I knew. Something had shifted.
Then came the message—short, cold:
"Hey. I think we should take a break. I need to figure things out."
No explanation. No goodbye. After all we shared? After all I gave?
I stared at my screen for hours. My heart racing. My mind screaming. But my fingers refused to type anything back.
I wasn’t just hurt. I was humiliated. Forgotten. Replaced.
They always said heartbreak feels like a punch to the chest.
They lied.
It felt like drowning—quiet, heavy, endless.
But something inside me stirred. Not anger… not yet.
Clarity.
He didn’t deserve me.
I gave him everything. He gave me doubt.
So I did the one thing he never expected—I moved on.
To be continued…
➡️ Part 3 drops soon. Stay tuned.
