Back in university hostel, hunger used to humble everybody. One night, around 11pm, my roommate suddenly shouted, “Omo, I dey see Jollof for my dream oh! 😂
Next thing, all of us gathered ₦50, ₦100, ₦20 from our pockets. We carried the money to the woman at the night canteen. By the time we returned with one big cooler of Jollof rice, the whole room turned to party. No spoon? No wahala. We used pure water sachets and even exercise books as plates.
That night, we laughed till 2am. Even till today, anytime I smell hostel Jollof, I remember that joy. Hunger really makes friendship stronger.
