How I Loved

I still remember those times, when I used to walk down the streets with my ex-boyfriend, sharing sweet words and laughter. The times I thought I've found true love.

He would accompany me down my street every evening, say "I love you", and we would share a "till we meet next". Sweet memories.

He would always chat me up to make sure I reached home and we would chat till late at night. The love was like never before.

His words, his looks and his charisma always gave a vibe I never wanted to miss. In his arms, I felt safe enough, safe enough to the extent I gave him all I could, including my body. I lost my virginity to him.

After we had sex, he started acting cold towards me, taking forever to pick my calls and reply my chats. His love for me faded away, like the wind.

One day, he opened up to me that he wanted a break up, i asked him why, his reply was "I don't feel the love for anymore". All I could say was a word "Goodbye". And that was how the relationship ended.

I didn't struggle further because I knew that, at that point, I had to accept the reality, that the relationship was long gone way back before the break up.

I didn't blame him for not loving me anymore, I blamed myself instead for giving my body to him carelessly. But then, it had happened, I couldn't change it. That moment was gone.

I chose to heal instead of crying over spilled milk. I was very much intentional about healing, and today, I can say that I no longer feel the pain I felt back then and that is the truth.

I'm now stronger, wiser and smarter because I understood that what happened is now the past, and that moment can't be brought back. I learned from my experience.

If you're having a similar experience, I'm telling you to heal, you can't bring back the past.

Don't be quick to enter another relationship, make sure you heal before you do so.

If you put your mind to it, you can do it❤️.
