How to pass JAMB in one sitting — no runs, no stress

JAMB is not about how “brilliant” you are.

It’s about how prepared and strategic you are.

Whether you’re writing it for the first time or trying again, these tips will give you the edge you need to pass it once and for all.

    Let’s go 👇

    1. Get the JAMB syllabus early — and follow it like your life depends on it

The syllabus is JAMB’s way of telling you:

"We will not ask you outside this."

✅ You can get it online for FREE

✅ It shows you the exact topics for each subject

✅ If it’s not there — don’t waste time reading it

📌 Many students read irrelevant things.

    Reading everything = wasted time.

Reading the right thing = smarter prep.

    2. Start with the subject you are weakest in

Don’t run from the subject you find hard to read — tackle it first.

    Why?

You’ll need more time to understand it

    It removes the fear early

You’ll have more confidence for the others

📌 If Physics gives you headache, start with Physics.

Not English that you’re already good at.

    3. Use past questions like they’re gold

    JAMB repeats questions (sometimes word-for-word).

But even when they don’t repeat, the style and pattern remains the same.

✅ Practice at least 10 past papers per subject

    ✅ Check the answers

✅ Don’t just look — solve them with a timer

✅ Focus on frequently repeated topics

💡 Bonus: Try CBT mock apps — they feel like real exam day.

    4. Use YouTube & Google for hard topics

No excuse again. We’re in 2025.

You can learn anything for free.

✅ Stuck on projectile motion? Search “Projectile Motion JAMB explained” on YouTube

✅ Can’t solve quadratic equations? Watch a video in Pidgin or clear English

There are teachers breaking things down better than your school.

📌 If you can watch TikTok, you can watch one 5-minute topic per day. You’ll thank yourself later.

    5. Use the Pomodoro technique (45/10 method)

Don’t read for 5 hours straight. You’ll burn out.

    ✅ Study for 45 minutes

    ✅ Rest for 10–15 minutes

    ✅ Repeat

    This method:

    Improves focus

    Reduces fatigue

    Helps you remember better

📌 Reading smart beats reading long.

    6. Avoid group reading that turns into gossip

Group reading can be helpful IF:

    Everyone is serious

    You’re solving past questions

You’re teaching and explaining to each other

But if it turns into gist about housemates, football, or crushes — run! 😅

📌 Read alone first. Join group only to revise or test knowledge.

    7. Stay away from “runs” and expo traps

There’s no such thing as “100% sure JAMB runs.”

Even if they send you questions, how do you know they’re real?

People have failed while waiting for expo.

Others passed by studying with focus.

🛑 Expo will fail you. Confidence will pass you.

    8. The night before the exam: sleep well, eat light

Don’t try to study your entire textbook that night.

    Instead:

✅ Go over key formulas or facts

✅ Pack your slip, pencil, and ID

    ✅ Sleep 6–7 hours

    ✅ Set multiple alarms

📌 A tired brain can’t think straight — no matter how well you studied.

    9. On the day of the exam:

    Arrive early

    Don’t follow crowd talk

    Read instructions carefully

Answer your best subject first (in CBT you can switch sections)

    Don’t panic — take a deep breath

And if one question confuses you…

    ✅ SKIP and come back

Time is precious. Don’t waste it on one stubborn question.

    10. Final mindset tip:

    JAMB is not your enemy.

    It’s not spiritual warfare.

It’s just an exam — and you can pass it smartly.

You don’t need to be a genius.

You just need a plan and consistency.

📌 Your score is not about luck.

    It’s about discipline + strategy + calmness.

🎯 You can pass JAMB in one sitting.

No expo. No panic. No pressure.

    Just strategy.

May your score shock you — in a good way! 💯
