1 day agoGlobal wrestling icon and former WWE and WCW superstar, Hulk Hogan, has passed away at the age of 71. The man who thrilled fans around the world including millions in Nigeria died at his home in Clearwater, Florida, on Thursday morning.
The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) confirmed his passing in an official statement, saying: “WWE is saddened to learn WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away. One of pop culture’s most recognizable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s. WWE extends its condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans.”
His death comes barely a month after his wife, Sky Bollea, denied rumours that Hogan was in a coma or battling life-threatening complications from recent surgeries. At the time, she described the reports as “false and misleading.”
Hulk Hogan was known for his signature moves, his charisma, and his unforgettable catchphrase: “Whatcha gonna do when Hulkamania runs wild on you?” He was a two-time WWE Hall of Famer
His influence went far beyond wrestling, Hogan featured in movies, reality TV, and pop culture for decades.
