I started dating Caleb last year. He was kind, sweet, and serious. Everything I ever wanted.
But his mother hated me. She never even tried to hide it.
She would insult me in front of him, compare me to his ex, and say I wasn’t "wife material."
 At first, he defended me. But after a while, he got quiet. He started saying “just ignore her.”
I felt alone. I broke up with him in January. No fight. I just told him I was tired.
Now I heard he’s engaged to a girl his mother chose for him.
And the painful part? I still love him.
Did I do the right thing? Should I try to get him back?
