I Dated a TikTok Star — Let Me Tell You the Truth 😬📱

Honestly, I should have known from the first date 😩. Man showed up with a ring light in one hand 💡 and lip gloss in the other 💄 — I thought he was coming to eat rice 🍚, not shoot a movie 🎬.

Dating a TikTok star is fun at first 😅. He’d randomly start dancing in the middle of the road 🕺🏽 and I’d just stand there like a confused backup dancer 💃🏽. Sometimes he’d ask me to “laugh naturally” 😂 while he recorded — how am I supposed to laugh naturally when you’ve said “action” like we’re in Nollywood 🎥?

At restaurants 🍽️, I learned the hard way that food is not food until 57 pictures 📸 and 3 “B-roll” videos 🎞️ are taken. One time, I took a bite too early 🍗 and he legit paused, stared at me like I committed a crime 😐, then said, “Wow. You’ve just ruined the content.” My sister, I just wanted to eat 🥲.

Oh, and privacy? That one packed its bag 🧳 and left 🏃🏽‍♀️💨. This guy turned everything into content 📱. I sneezed once 🤧 and found the video online with the caption: “When your babe sneezes like a cat 🐱.” It got 22K likes 👍🏽. My nose didn’t even get a thank you 🫤.

Don’t get me wrong — he was sweet sometimes 🥺. But if I had 100 naira for every time he said “Let’s do a couple challenge 👯‍♂️,” I’d have relocated by now ✈️.

So yeah, dating a TikTok star? 😩 It's like being in a relationship with a ring light and 3 million followers. Fun, chaotic, and very… online. 📱💀

Would I do it again? Only if I’m allowed to eat my food hot and sneeze in peace. 😂
