That day, I wore my finest outfit — you know the one you keep for “special oppressional occasions”? 😌
Perfume? Sprayed.
Hair? Brushed like say I dey go interview with Dangote.
Mirror told me: “Omo you too fine today.”
I believed it.
As I waka enter bus stop, heads dey turn. One guy even whisper, “This one no be from here.”
I just dey blush like goat wey dem praise before slaughter 🙈
Entered keke.
Driver said, “Bring your money.”
Me: “No wahala, I get.”
Opened my bag with confidence…
Na biscuit, comb and old receipt full inside 😭
My ATM card dey house.
My phone don off.
Even my pride commot.
I look the driver with soft voice:
“Oga abeg, I go pay you later.”
Before he reply, one small girl for corner shout:
“Aunty no get money!”
