She is 8. I do not make her cook. I do not make her sweep. I do not make her wash plates. My mother says I am failing because "her husband's house will teach her." I say her husband's house can get a housekeeper. I want her to focus on books, sports, and confidence. Housekeeping is not a gender destiny.
