I trained a girl through school, now she says I’m not her class.

‎I met her in 2017 when she was still selling pure water with her aunt.

‎She had dropped out of SS2.

‎I liked her. She was humble, respectful, and always said thank you even when I helped her with small things.

‎One day, I asked if she’d like to go back to school.

‎She said, “If God touches someone’s heart, I’ll go back.”

    ‎So I became that someone.

    ‎I sponsored her SS2, SS3, WAEC, JAMB.

‎I was there when she got admission. I paid for everything acceptance, hostel, school fees, textbooks. I even sent her monthly upkeep.

‎I wasn’t rich, but I made it work because I saw potential.

‎Now, she’s done with school and doing NYSC.

‎I called her one evening and said, “What next for us?”

    ‎She replied:

‎“Honestly, you’re a good man, but I don’t think we’re compatible. I’ve grown. We’re no longer in the same class.”

‎I laughed… but it was the kind of laugh that burns.
