If Gratitude Was Sacred
By Tola 🔥 🖤
If gratitude was sacred,
I would turn the world upside down.
I would tilt the earth so you could never know
what it feels like
to fall.
If gravity tried to pull you down,
I would break its law.
I would make everything around you
float toward your warmth.
If gratitude were a sea,
I would drain the Atlantic
just to pour it into your soul
and show you
how thankful I am.
If gratitude was a stone,
I would throw it—
not to hurt you,
but so you never forget
how solid your presence feels in my life.
And if gratitude meant losing myself,
I would.
I would peel this body off,
feed it to straw dogs,
and smile—
because loving you
was still worth it.
