Out-of-School Children in Nigeria: A Silent Scourge

Nigeria has the highest number of out-of-school children in the world—over 20 million. Behind this number are children forced into street hawking, early marriage, and child labor.
Education is the foundation of development, yet it remains elusive for many Nigerian children, especially in the North. Unless Nigeria tackles poverty, insecurity, and lack of infrastructure in schools, this lost generation may become a major national crisis in the future.

How can the silent scourge of illiteracy be eradicated?
