It's been 6 months that we are living together with my girlfriend, and we will get married in around one month.
She's not working, and going to school only once a week.
I've been working 2 jobs remotely, and paying for everything. As a man, I think I should be the one that provides for everything. She didn't spend a dime on anything related to the house, bills or anything. She ask me money when she goes out with her friends, and I'm happy to give it to her.
However, a few days ago, she complained that I don't do house chores, like cleaning. I told her that it was her responsibility to take care of the house, and that I never asked her anything about the financial side of things ever. She was saying that we should do 50/50 because it's not fair and that she's tired.
I told her that if she's tired, she should just sleep more as she doesn't work, and can't give me that excuse to not take care of the house. During these 6 months, she's been doing house chores, and | constantly ask her if she needs any help on anything, if she's fine, etc..
I try to not get noticed when I went through a room, or when late etc.. I'm constantly cleaning behind myself, to reliefs her and not give her too much work. She has everything she needs to do the chores, and bought a robot so she doesn't have to do the vacuum cleaner. I try to simplify her a maximum, and even bought a cooking robot so it's way easier for her to do the cooking and not spend a lot of time on it.loften do the dishes, but often she comes behind me because it's not the "right way" to do, and l've been constantly asked her what was the right way, so she doesn't have to come a second time and do it (we have a dishwasher, but she wants to clean them a first time first before putting in the dishwasher)
She's saying that it won't k*ll me to give 30min of my day to do some chores. I told her that in no way she would try to force me to do chores, and that it was overall her responsibility, and I'm always here to help her, but she can't ask me to do 50/50 on the chores, when I do everything else.
I'm very happy to provide for her, but I feel like working remotely makes it so when I work, and when I'm chilling, I'm at the same spot, so she doesn't really see it.
She told me that she wouldn't be happy that way of doing, and I told her that if it was the case, we won't get married, because it would be a waste of time. I'm not willing to negotiate on that, as we already talked before about how it was her duty to take care of the house, and the rest is mine.
I never said something about her way of cleaning, cooking, or said the house was dirty, or anything else.
Today, I told her that if she was really not happy about the way of doing, we will not get married and she can totally tell me everything that she needs to tell me. She can complain on everything else, but not that. She just told me that she takes back what she said and that she will be happy.I feel like she only told me this to get over the discussion, and being overall selfish with this whole situation, and I don't know anymore if we are really ready to get married, or we are not made to be together at all.
Pretty 😻 😍 Confession
