  • *🚨 JAMB CAPS: Admission Terms & Their Meanings*

If you’ve been checking your JAMB CAPS and keep seeing words like *“Not Admitted,”* *“Admission in Progress,”* or *“Transfer Approval,”* it can be confusing. To make things clearer, here’s what each of those terms actually means:

    *🔹 1. Not Admitted*

If your CAPS shows *“NOT ADMITTED,”* it means you’ve not been offered admission yet. This does not always mean rejection — admissions are released in batches, and sometimes your school may not have uploaded your details. Keep checking regularly, especially if your school has started giving admissions.

    *🔹 2. Admission in Progress*

When you see *“ADMISSION IN PROGRESS,”* it means your school has already recommended you for admission and JAMB is currently processing or validating it. At this stage, you’re close to admission, and if everything goes smoothly, your status will soon change to *“CONGRATULATIONS….”*

    *🔹 3. Admitted / Admission Offered*

Once you see *“CONGRATULATIONS…”* it means you’ve officially been given admission on CAPS. From here, you need to take action — either accept the admission to secure it or reject it if you prefer to wait for another school or course.

    *🔹 4. Transfer Approval*

If “TRANSFER APPROVAL” appears, it means your school wants to change you from your original course to a different one. You can either accept the new course or reject it. However, rejecting may reduce your chances of admission in that school.

    *🔹 5. Accept Admission*

This is the option to use when you’re satisfied with the admission given. Accepting confirms it officially with JAMB. Note that acceptance requires fingerprint verification at a JAMB-accredited CBT centre. Alternatively, you can accept through SMS by sending to *55019* or *66019* with the phone number used for your JAMB registration.

    *🔹 6. Reject Admission*

If you don’t want the admission offered, you can reject it. Like acceptance, this also requires fingerprint verification at a CBT centre. You can also reject admission by sending an SMS to *55019* or *66019* from your JAMB registration phone number.

*🔹 7. Marketplace (JAMB Market Place Offer)*

Sometimes, JAMB suggests other schools or courses for you through the Marketplace. You can choose to accept the alternative offer or reject it, depending on your preference.

May we all see congratulations you have been admitted waiting for us in JESUS name.
