    Key Developments in Nakuru

KeNHA concludes public consultations on upcoming Nairobi–Nakuru–Mau Summit Highway
The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) is wrapping up stakeholder engagements related to the development of the A8 highway—part of the Nairobi–Nakuru–Mau Summit corridor and its southern section (A8 South). These discussions will conclude next week, marking a pivotal step in the project’s advancement.

Traffic resumes after sinkhole closure on Nakuru–Eldoret Highway
A large sinkhole emerged near the Eveready Roundabout on the Nakuru–Eldoret (A8) Road, disrupting traffic on Wednesday evening. Fortunately, repairs have been completed and traffic restored.  Meanwhile, geological assessments suggest the sinkhole may be linked to volcanic fault lines in the region—prompting engineers and local officials to plan for monitoring and long-term solutions.

Warning over danger of offering lifts to strangers on Nakuru–Kisumu route
In light of recent incidents, local authorities—led by Assistant Chief Beatrice Mbugua—warn motorists against giving rides to strangers along the Nakuru–Kisumu route. A criminal gang, reportedly dressed in police uniforms, has targeted such motorists. Two armed robbery cases have already been reported this past week. Security forces have since intensified efforts to apprehend the suspects.
