🎨 Music as an Art
Music is creative expression.
It’s about emotions, storytelling, beauty, and human imagination.
Example: When Ayra Starr sings softly about love, she’s not just hitting notes—she’s painting emotions with sound.
🔬 Music as a Science
Music is also physics and math in action.
Sound = vibrations (frequencies) traveling through the air as waves.
Rhythm = patterns that can be measured in beats per minute (BPM).
Harmony = mathematical ratios between notes (e.g., the octave is a 2:1 ratio of frequencies).
The brain processes music scientifically too—dopamine (the “happy chemical”) is released when we hear music we love.
🔗 How They Relate
1. Sound Waves + Emotion
Science explains how a note is produced (frequency, vibration).
Art explains how that note makes us feel (sad, joyful, nostalgic).
2. Math + Creativity
Rhythm is mathematical (counting beats, timing).
But artists bend the math to create unique grooves (e.g., Afrobeat syncopation).
3. Brain + Soul
Neurology shows why music affects memory, mood, and healing.
But the artistic side is how a song connects to personal or cultural identity.
4. Instrument Design
Science builds instruments (guitars, drums, synths).
Art uses them to create beauty and meaning.
