*Text : Proverbs 29:18 (NKJV) - “Where there is no Revelation, the people cast off restraint; but blessed is he who keeps the law.”*
*-----Inspirational Message-----*
As we are just starting the Month of August, it is very important we live our lives based on Revelation, to enable us fulfill God’s plan and purpose for our lives. To live by revelation means to live by Divine Insight, Knowledge, and Understanding that comes from God, not merely by human logic, experience, or tradition. Revelation is the unveiling of God’s Truth to our spirit, it is Light in darkness, Direction in confusion, and Stability in storms. Without Revelation, life becomes guesswork, and destiny may be mismanaged. I pray may the Almighty God give you Revelation, for every move you make this Month in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen.
*1. What Is Revelation?*
Revelation is God's communication of truth to man. It transcends information and becomes illumination, it opens your eyes to see what God sees. It is a deep insight of God’s purpose for your life. Ephesians 1:17-18a (KJV) - "That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened..."
*2. The Necessity of Revelation.*
Living by Revelation is very necessary for every believer, because it enables them to :
a) To Understand God's Will:
Colossians 1:9b – "…that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;"
b) To Walk in Victory:
Without revelation, believers live below their covenant privileges. Hosea 4:6a – "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…"
c) To Avoid Deception:
Matthew 22:29 – "Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God."
*3. Sources of Divine Revelation.*
Divine Revelation can be gotten from the following sources:
a) The Word of God (The Bible):
Psalm 119:105 – "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."
b) The Holy Spirit:
John 16:13a – “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.”
c) Divine Encounters (Dreams, Visions, Prophecies):
Joel 2:28b – "---and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions."
*4. Examples of Those Who Lived by Revelation.*
a) Abraham : Followed God into the unknown because of Divine instruction. Genesis 12:1-4
b) Joseph : Interpreted dreams and rose to prominence by divine insight. Genesis 41:15-16
c) Paul : Received the Gospel by Revelation, not by man. Galatians 1:11-12
*5. How to Live Daily by Revelation.*
a) Stay Intimate with God through Prayer and Worship. Jeremiah 33:3 – "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not."
b) Meditate Consistently on the Word of God. Psalm 1:2 – "But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night."
c) Obey Promptings of the Holy Spirit Quickly. Isaiah 30:21 - "And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left."
*Conclusion.*
Living by revelation is not a spiritual luxury, it is a necessity for every believer. In a world full of deception and distractions, the only safe path is the one lit by God's revealed truth (Revelation). Ask God for Revelation daily, live by what He reveals, and your life will be marked by Clarity, Power, and Progress.
*Prayer.*
Father, give me the spirit of wisdom and revelation. Open the eyes of my understanding. Help me to live not by sight, not by the opinions of men, but by Your revealed truth, in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
