Born on September 5, 1990, in Port Harcourt, she began singing in church at age six and later directed the adult choir . Her breakout came after winning Nigerian Idol Season 2 in 2012, which launched her into the spotlight .
In 2015, she released her debut single “Testimony,” followed by “Igwe” in 2016. Signing with EeZee Conceptz in 2017, Mercy released her acclaimed debut album The Cross: My Gaze in 2018. In 2023, she joined Lighthill Music while continuing her philanthropic efforts, co‑founding the MercyisBlessed Foundation to empower youth and the less privileged .
