    Halima and Ahmed started talking in secret. By the well. Behind the mosque. At the back of the vegetable stand.

    She  asked him why he always looked like he was carrying the weight of the world.

    He told her his brother was jailed over something his father's people accused him of.

    She swallowed hard. ''I'm sorry.''

    They sat in silence that evening. Two young souls bound by stories older than them.
