Then there’s something called a “power bank module.” This tiny board: charges the battery, regulates voltage, and gives USB output for your phone. Without it, you can damage your device. The shocking part? The materials are actually available in Nigeria. You can find them on: Jumia Computer Village local electronics shops Some people even recycle old laptop batteries to reduce cost. But here’s what I learned quickly: One battery is okay for phones… …but tablets are another story 😅 Most tablets need much larger capacity, so you may need: 3 to 4 batteries, stronger modules, and better wiring. I also discovered why many cheap power banks fail. Some sellers use: weak batteries, fake battery ratings, poor circuit protection. That’s why some power banks: swell, stop working quickly, or charge painfully slowly. One important warning: Lithium batteries are NOT toys. Wrong connections can: overheat, spark, or damage devices. So anybody trying this should learn properly first. What started as frustration over blackout honestly became a mini tech lesson for me.
