This country ehn... I don't even know where to start. I'm sitting down here, tears in my eyes, asking myself one question β what exactly did we do wrong to deserve this Nigeria? Last year, we registered for Civil Defence and Immigration. We filled forms, we paid, we waited, we prayed. Then today, they released the portal, and what happened? Nobody in our group chat got shortlisted. Nobody. People who genuinely applied, genuinely qualified, genuinely needed that job β all of them passed. But somehow, somebody somewhere got shortlisted. Who are those people? Who are their parents? What connection do they have that we don't? This is the Nigeria we live in. If you don't know somebody, you are nobody. If your uncle is not a senator, your application will gather dust. Merit died in this country a long time ago, and nobody is even mourning it anymore. We wake up every morning, hustle with everything we have, follow every process they tell us to follow, and still, the system spits us out like we are nothing. The pain is not just the rejection β the pain is knowing that the game was never fair from the beginning.
