In a significant turn of events, the Federal High Court in Abuja has admitted into evidence a ₦1 billion judgment awarded to Nnamdi Kanu by an Abia State High Court. This judgment was in response to the unlawful invasion of Kanu's home by security agencies. The court's decision to accept this as evidence marks a pivotal moment in the ongoing treason and terrorism trial against the IPOB leader. During the proceedings, a Department of State Services (DSS) operative, identified as “BBB,” testified that the DSS did not arrest Kanu in Kenya, countering previous claims by Kanu's defense. The court has adjourned the trial to May 22, 2025, to allow for the continuation of cross-examination.
