Besides rhinos and giraffes, Lake Nakuru National Park supports a wide range of mammals and other wildlife. Notably, the park is home to lions, leopards, buffaloes, zebras, waterbucks, baboons, and warthogs. It’s one of the few places in Kenya where you can potentially see four of the Big Five (excluding elephants, which are absent). The park also has hyenas, jackals, and a variety of antelope species. The diversity of habitats—ranging from forest to grassland to lake shore—supports this rich animal life. Early morning and late afternoon game drives are the best times to spot predators and large herbivores.
