1 hr agoSome parents and secondary school leavers have expressed frustration over difficulties uploading their 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination results on the Central Admission Processing System portal of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board.
In separate conversations with PUNCH Online and on social media, on Wednesday, they claimed operators of JAMB-accredited Computer-Based Test centres told them they could not upload WAEC results on the CAPS portal.
Parents said the problem had left many unable to upload reviewed WAEC results, sparking fears of losing admission opportunities as some institutions have begun asking candidates to upload their results ahead of post-UTME screenings.
The CAPS platform was developed by JAMB to automate admission processes into tertiary institutions, provide easily retrievable data for stakeholders in the education sector, expand admission opportunities, and eliminate multiple admissions.
One concerned parent, Fatimah Ajayi, said, “My daughter and I went to the CBT neighbourhood on Wednesday, and we were told they have not been able to upload 2025 WAEC results on the CAPS and have no idea when they will be able to access the portal.
“With the University of Ibadan’s post-UTME screening coming up later this month, my daughter will not be able to write the exam without the admission letter that we will get from the CAPS portal.”
Another parent, Aliu Kehinde, said, “We hear that JAMB has suspended the upload of WAEC results on the Central Admissions portal. CBT centres say they can’t upload.
