In a small village called Ogbomosho, everyone knew Pastor Elisha — a kind-hearted man with a very stubborn goat named “Brother Sunday.” Now, Brother Sunday was no ordinary goat. He behaved like he paid tithe. He’d walk into the church during service, sit by the front row, and chew cassava like he was listening to the sermon.
One weekend, the whole village buzzed with excitement. It was the wedding of Chioma and Ebuka, and the entire village was invited. Big pots of jollof rice, egusi soup, goat meat, and fufu were being prepared in the community hall.
But trouble was cooking somewhere else — Brother Sunday had disappeared!
Pastor Elisha was busy praying for the couple when he heard whispers and saw children laughing uncontrollably. He turned around and what did he see?
Brother Sunday had somehow sniffed out the wedding food, walked into the hall, climbed the table, and helped himself to a *whole tray of rice and goat meat!* The irony!
The bride screamed, “JESUS!” The groom shouted, “Who invited this prophet goat?” And an elder muttered, “Even the goat knows good food.”
: Everyone chased the goat around the compound — the DJ stopped the music, women dropped their fufu, and even the photographer filmed the chaos like it was part of the wedding highlights.
Eventually, Brother Sunday was caught, but not before he knocked over two pots of soup and dipped his hooves in someone's cooler of zobo. The bride, still in shock, asked Pastor Elisha, “Sir, is this goat truly holy?” And the pastor replied, “He’s anointed with appetite!”
From that day, the villagers started locking their food and calling Brother Sunday "The Glutton Prophet."
