3 hrs agoThe Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA), Namibian Police, and the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) have all distanced themselves from reports that gospel singer DNAFF, real name Naftalie Amukwelele, was arrested over alleged forgery.
Yarukeekuro Ndorokaze, NamRA’s Strategic Communications and Support Engagements, said the agency is not mandated to execute arrests and did not confirm any detention.
Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi of NamPol and ACC Director of Communication Marina Matundu similarly denied involvement, saying neither agency apprehended the musician.
Sources told NBC News that Amukwelele was arrested in the same matter in which a medical doctor and another individual were arrested earlier.
According to the sources, Amukwlele referred the doctor to an agent contracted by NamRA, who provided the doctor with forged credentials using Amukwlele's name.
The musician appeared in the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court on Friday and was granted bail of N$5,000.
