Former presidential aide Reno Omokri has called on the Nigerian government to restructure the national work schedule to accommodate Muslims' Jumu'ah prayers. In a video shared on his verified Facebook page, Omokri proposed shifting work hours earlier from Monday to Thursday and closing offices by midday on Fridays. He argued that this adjustment would not negatively impact national productivity, as the lost time on Friday would be compensated during the other weekdays. Omokri emphasized that before colonial influence, Fridays were traditionally observed as a sacred day of rest for Muslims, and he believes this change would promote fairness in religious practices across the country.
