    1.What is SPEED?

    Speed is how fast something is moving.

    It tells us how much distance an object covers in a given time.

     

    ✅ Formula:

    Speed = Distance / Time

     

    ✅ It is a scalar quantity → it has magnitude only, no direction.

     

    2. What is VELOCITY?

    Velocity is speed in a specific direction.

    It tells us how fast AND where an object is moving.

     

    ✅ Formula:

    Velocity = Displacement / Time

     

    ✅ It is a vector quantity → it has both magnitude and direction.

     

    3. Wait, what’s the difference between Distance and Displacement?

     

    🔹 Distance = total path covered (no direction involved)

    Let’s say you’re walking from your house to the market, which is 3 km away, and then back home.

    Total distance = 3 km (to market) + 3 km (back) = 6 km

    But your displacement = 0 (since you returned to where you started)

    Speed = 6 km ÷ time taken

    Velocity = 0 ÷ time = 0

    So yes…

    You moved. You used energy. You even sweated.
