Election “low turnout” is not apathy.
It’s heartbreak.
A thread on why Nigerians no longer rush to the polls. 🧵
They’ve queued in the sun.
They’ve voted with hope.
But what did they get?
— Stolen mandates.
— Rubber-stamp lawmakers.
— Hunger in every home.
You think they don’t care?
No.
They’re exhausted.
Hope without results becomes trauma.
Until we make votes count, until leadership starts delivering…
People will keep watching elections from their balconies — not polling units.
They haven’t given up.
They just feel betrayed.
Democracy must heal, not just exist.
Fix trust, and the people will return.
