Everybody thinks Teju is soft and innocent until they borrow her charger 😭 Because why are chargers disappearing in this country like national treasure? One day I lent someone my charger for “5 minutes.” FIVE. MINUTES. Tell me why the charger traveled more than some Nigerians abroad 😭 From: hostel room to friend’s room to night class to church lodge to one guy “that sells phone accessories” then somehow ended up in another state emotionally At this point chargers don’t get lost. They start a new life. And don’t even let me start on Nigerian greetings 😭 You’ll hear: “I’m coming.” No location. No movement. No estimated arrival time. Just vibes and dishonesty. Or somebody will call you and say: “Guess who?” Brother if life was easy enough for me to identify voices like FBI forensic department, would I be struggling like this? 😭 Another thing that needs investigation: Why do parents wake up angry on Saturday mornings? You’re sleeping peacefully like an orphan in an advertisement then suddenly: “TEJUUUUU.” Your soul will leave your body before your eyes even open. And somehow they’ll send you to buy one thing from a shop 47 streets away when there’s literally a closer shop beside the house. African parents believe suffering builds character 😭 But lowkey… those struggles built some of our funniest memories. The power outages. The “off the fan!” battles. The family arguments over remote control. The impossible school hairstyles. The indomie that tasted sweeter during hard times. Funny enough, one day we’ll miss these chaotic moments. Life is weird like that. Right now everybody is trying to “make it,” pretending to have life figured out, posting aesthetics and motivational quotes… Meanwhile half of us are just hungry and trying not to cry 😭 But honestly? There’s something beautiful about still trying. About laughing even when things are messy. About waking up again and saying: “Okay life, round 2.” So if nobody told you today: You’re doing better than you think. Even Teju survived missing charger trauma and emotional damage 😭
