A strong Message to the Nigerian Government on the Welfare of Security Personnel We all know that the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Air Force, the Nigerian Police Force, and other security agencies are trying their best to protect the lives and property of citizens. Unless we want to deceive ourselves, we must admit that they are making sacrifices every day to keep our nation safe. Without these security personnel, many criminals would believe they could commit crimes and escape justice. Their efforts in maintaining law and order, carrying out investigations, and combating insecurity deserve recognition and appreciation. However, one major challenge is that many people join these services not because of passion, but because of unemployment. Some spend five to ten years searching for jobs before getting an opportunity. Some even struggle financially during the recruitment process because they desperately need employment. The Nigerian Government must understand that the welfare of security personnel directly affects their performance. It is unfair for people who risk their lives daily to receive salaries and benefits that do not reflect the importance of their duties. Security personnel deserve: - Good and attractive salaries. - Free or subsidized accommodation. - Official vehicles and fuel allowances where necessary. - Free uniforms and work equipment. - Free and quality education for their children. - Comprehensive health care. - Insurance and life support packages for their families if they die in active service. - Adequate compensation for injuries sustained while protecting the nation. The government expects them to fight insecurity, reject bribery, and remain committed to their duties. If we truly want a secure Nigeria, we must first treat those providing security with dignity and respect. Many officers are currently nursing injuries suffered in the line of duty. Some live in hardship after dedicating years of service to the nation. Sadly, many of them feel forgotten. I strongly believe that if security personnel are properly motivated and cared for, they will perform even better and Nigeria will become safer for everyone. To all members of the Nigerian Police Force, the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Air Force, and other security agencies, we appreciate your sacrifices and dedication. May God continue to strengthen, protect, and reward you for your service to our nation. God bless our security personnel. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
