When it came time for the bouquet toss, all the single ladies gathered eagerly. The bride turned around, counted to three, and tossed it high into the air. Suddenly, one of the groomsmen leapt forward and caught it. Everyone gasped — especially his girlfriend, who had been standing nearby. He just shrugged and said, “Well, now I guess I’m next!” The whole crowd burst into laughter, and someone jokingly started tossing the groom’s boutonniere to see who would be “next” among the single guys. The dance floor was full of laughter, and it turned into the best part of the night.
