There was once a young boy who dreamed of becoming successful. He wanted a better life for himself and his family. Every day he made plans, watched successful people, and talked about his future. However, whenever it was time to work hard, he would find excuses. Sometimes he blamed his environment. Other times he blamed lack of money or lack of support. One day, while sitting under a tree feeling discouraged, he met an old man. The old man listened carefully to all his complaints. After a few minutes, the old man picked up a seed from the ground and handed it to the boy. The old man said, "This seed has the potential to become a great tree. But if it stays in your pocket, it will remain a seed forever." The boy looked confused. The old man continued, "Your dreams are like this seed. Talking about them is not enough. You must plant them with action, water them with discipline, and protect them with patience. Success grows slowly, just like a tree." Those words changed the boy's life. He stopped making excuses and started taking small steps every day. Years later, he achieved many of the goals he once thought were impossible.
