One sunny afternoon, a hungry monkey was walking through the forest looking for food. After searching for hours, he finally spotted a bunch of ripe bananas hanging from a tall tree. His eyes lit up with excitement. The monkey quickly climbed the tree and grabbed as many bananas as he could carry. Feeling proud of himself, he sat on a branch and began eating. As he enjoyed the sweet bananas, he noticed another monkey watching from below. Not wanting to share, the clever monkey decided to hide the remaining bananas. He placed them inside a hole in the tree and covered the opening with leaves. Then he climbed down and walked away, smiling. The next day, he returned to collect his hidden bananas. However, when he reached the tree, he discovered that the bananas were gone. Shocked and confused, he searched everywhere. Suddenly, he heard laughter coming from above. Looking up, he saw a squirrel holding one of the bananas. The squirrel said, "You were so busy hiding your food from others that you forgot someone else was watching you!" The monkey could not help but laugh at himself. He realized that being selfish had cost him all the bananas he was trying to protect.
