I wore white, ironed my native, and even sprayed perfume on my neck.
They said the wedding was at "St. Mark’s by the market." I didn’t know there were two St. Marks in the same area. But guess who didn’t ask for details?
Me.
I walked in confidently, greeting aunties, smiling at strangers. I noticed nobody looked excited. No food, no music, just people crying.
That’s when I saw the casket.
One old woman shouted, “Who is this one?”
I said, “I came for Joy and Emmanuel’s wedding.”
The silence that followed nearly buried me too.
Someone whispered, “This boy is lost.”
I reversed slowly and told the keke guy, “Oga abeg, take me back to factory reset.”
Till today, I double-check any event I’m invited to. One more mistake like that and they’ll start asking me to give offering.
What’s the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you at a public event? 😂👇🏽
