Last Sunday, I decided to take a bold step towards adulthood — I was going to cook beans all by myself. Everything was going fine until I realized I forgot to buy pepper. I grabbed my old faithful rubber slippers and dashed to the market like a ninja on a mission.
Halfway there, one side of my slipper gave up on life. I tried to manage it like a wounded soldier limping to victory, but suddenly the other side betrayed me too. Now I was barefoot on hot tar, hopping like a mad frog.
People stared, some laughed, a little kid even asked if I was doing a TikTok challenge.
Determined not to give up, I borrowed a piece of carton, folded it into makeshift shoes, and marched to the pepper seller like a warrior. As I was leaving, a dog saw me and decided I was suspicious. I ran. The carton flew. My dignity scattered.
When I finally got home, I forgot I left the beans on fire. Long story short — no pepper, no beans, no slippers.
