The night I met my neighbour's dog

    So this one night, around 8:45 pm, my mum sent me an errand to go and buy salt for her

     

    I strolled to the nearest shop Everything was calm… until I turned to the corner to my compound  

     

    That’s when I saw it.

     

    The neighborhood dog was out of my neighbours gate.

     

    Our eyes locked.

     

    I froze. He blinked. I blinked.

    He took one step forward.

     

    I mentally wrote my will.

    “Dear mama, tell my future kids I tried…”

     

    I gently, very gently, turned back and started walking like I was doing catwalk on runway. You know that slow walk you do when you’re trying not to look scared but your soul has already left the group chat?

     

    Then Bullet barked.

     

    I started running and started shouting for help 

    I didn’t look back. I didn’t care if the salt fell. I just ran like EFCC was chasing me.

    I reached my door and realized… Bullet didn’t even chase me. 😭

     

    He just wanted to stretch his legs.

    But my village people almost succeeded that night.

    I couldn't stop imagining what could have happened if the dog as chased me.
